Simple thing, I don't comment all the bull that goes on , on the open forum, discussing Vonage to anything, who cares. Put up the opinions no problem. But there has to be a limit on how and what are you putting up.
Despite IV doing so much for the community, the post from gvenkat, jyoti and including yours and lot others (guys you know whom I am talking about) actually demotivate the group and this way you contribute to IV but all NEGATI VE When I see this type shit I just cannot stop myself and I think would be a shame on myself if I do so.
Also , one time donation are not helping. IV needs more donations, more volunteers. Come on join in, everything is flexible here for volunteers, so please contribute and donate.IV core has got it to this point with least support and proved that yes it can be done now what else do you what IV to prove. After this still you are looking for something for them to prove. then its nothing to prove all BS excuses for not being the part of it.

It is these people and their opinions that cause IV to exist as a group. Lets say you are going to lock membership only to people paying a membership fee every month. How big a group are you going to get?
If it is going to be significant, then maybe that's the way IV should go and should just shut down public forums where there are members who can talk and members who have "not bought their right to talk"
I bring up the "monthly membership" issue because I did make donations on multiple occasions (you should probably look up your records and verify). And yet, under the new design, I am not a donor, I do not get access to the exclusive threads that only the privileged monthly members do. So, just like the OP, I am a thankless member who thinks the group is thankless. So, I do not know what initiatives IV has taken, but yet, I linger around the forums because it has so many smart people throwing around ideas, working on theories and just being friendly.
Maybe you should just create a little forum of yours in one corner and put walls around so no one can come in and make suggestions about things you won't tell them about. Does it take that much effort to be nice to someone? Just remember that he is free to tell you what to do irrespective of who he is. What you actually do is upto you. Just be nice for a change, it will make you get a whole new perspective on life!

This is my understanding. Please take time to read INA, I485 application and current VB.
1. The category of the derivative and quota of derivative is not related to I485.
All that matter at the time of derivative I485 application is the
a) primary's priority date is current
b) primary's I485/AOS application pending.
read the I485 application again Part2 option b. "My spouse or parent applied for adjustment of status or"
Gurus, Forum-Attorneys, IV-Core, feel free to correct me.
2. We are more concerned about the quota. where the derivative falls. I strongly believe they must be out of EB2 quota and placed under FB2A.
There may be a chance that Eb2 india will touch 2008 in a year. and F2b will be at 2006. How dependet can file 485 as if they counted against F2A their date is not current.

I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003
Please help.

Since GC is for *future* job, why can't self-employment in same/similar occupation, under AC21 and with *projected* revenues, be enough? I took my car.Once you get landed immigrant status in canada, everything needs to be transferred with you. They asked me either transfer my car or take it back to USA right away.As I have my family with me, So I argued for a while but no success. So i went to the customs and let them fill up the paper work to get the car transferred.Also they dont let your personal car to list in the things to follow paperwork, if you are driving the same car.I came back to USA after two weeks. But the transfer procedure still require you to get clearance from the USA for which you have to give the 72 hour notice to some agency and then take the car.Also you need Manufacturing clearance recall letter(which can be done both in USA & Canada).
I did not pay canadian customs a fee which is 209 + tax, as I want to bring the car back to usa. You have 45 days to get all this things done , other wise You have to export the car back to USA. They told me to send the payment or they will send a reminder notice after 10 days, which to date i have not received yet.You have to buy insurance and change the odometer into Km and also headlights should remain on when you start your car. I dont know what gonna happen, but I will sell the car if I have to, and send them the sale receipt.By the way i entered from detriot, and everything went smoothly.

If there's a recession (even with a soft landing) in 2007, as many economists and Wall Street people are saying, and we don't get SKIL Act through congress during lame-duck session -- what will it mean for us? Will business lobbies still have a strong case to sell to lawmakers amid a recession?

I do not understand why people spend their energy in coming up with some lame ideas. Just because you suffer does not mean that your fellows have to suffer, what is the point of being a sane individual with that kind of thought process.
There are people who come here on all kinds of visas F1, H1, L1 and like this country and stay back and need a green card for convenience. Students who came here want priority over people who came on H1B. It makes sense from their point of view.
Similarly people on H1B who got stuck in several stages and had to change the company have their own point of view.
How bout having a lame rule saying that GC for people with I.Q of 140 and above?

How bout having a lame rule like if you have a family you will be penalized by putting you at the end of the line for GC?
The list can go endless..
Worry less about who is cutting the line and getting ahead and please concentrate and put your energy and come up with good ideas and showing what we are really capable of..

I was plannig to go to Canada to take care of the landing formalities, but happened to visit this website, http://www.notcanada.com.
The details provided in the site is really scary. Though we keep Canadian PR as back up, after seeing this, I am wondering do I really need to go for landing.

Canada has been lacking of much opportunity and your friends may not open hearted to welcome you there and create opportunity. Perhaps they themselves feel at risk - or really lack of opportunity. I have been Canada for execution of couple of projects in early nineties several times.
It seems that it is no longer true. My son has couple of friends there and now his friends are proactively discussing about opportunities.
So I feel that for job scenarios will be very much different for 15 years experienced persons, 10 years experienced persons, 5 years experienced persons and recently graduated persons.
It may be better for young graduates. If you have 15+ years experience better to explore more.
This is based on personal experiences.

as per the attorney, the case history of employers who won using non competes in the court are very rare unless the law suit is agiainst key personnel and court gets convinced by the legitemate business interest. If the employer still chooses to fight, he has got more to loose than me because of non payments of wages also being involved here. since non compete has been used just to escape the wages, courts wil be more hard on the employer and will consider it as threat rather than genuine.
Thats good news. I think the attorney I met represents more of employers and so very reluctant on mine. I believe I still have hopes, I will look for a good attorney again to get mine reviewed.
