in one of the threads its said that all 90 senators had agreed to pass the SKIL as against one who did not (sen sessions) and since lame duck required unanimous voting it cud not, but when the demo's bring it up early next year, they would not need an unanimous vote on it but a majority vote? so statistically it sud get through? how far off am i on this?

Is that only for the lameduck session? Or is it true in general? Can senators put a 'hold' on a matter in any senate session? If that is true, then Senator Sessions can never even let this matter come up in senate in 2007 (and after.)

I think it is around 13 or 14...if they are under that, USCIS only takes a thumb print
I don't think there is a specific age where they will taken finger prints. Read my story.
My 15 yr old was the first to receive the notice. She was not in US at that time. I called the USCIS and informed them about this. They said they will postpone the appointment. But the postponement was only for 2 weeks. With the next notice I went to the local office. The security officer gave me a print out stating that I visited there for this reason. AND ACCORDING TO THAT NOTICE, FINGER PRINTING CAN BE DONE WITHIN 64 DAYS FROM THE ORIGINAL NOTICE. My child came back to US in 60 days and I took her to the local office walk in date. He got finger printed.
The very next week my 9 yr old got the notice. I took another appointment and next day I got a second finer printing notice for my elder one again. I took both of them to the local office and explained the situation. For my second child they did the finger printing and for my elder, they made a stamp on to the latest notice which was not at all clear.
Me and wife was never requested for a second finger printing. We all just got GREENED on August 6th.

It will be the right thing to do as people will always have a reason for not contributing. I doubt we can ever swing the thick skinned folks to contribute.
I understand that one reason for having the free site is for us to have numbers. But, how do these numbers help when most of them are not good for much.
I think it is about time for IV to think and make $25/month minimum fee for accessing this site. IV needs money to lobby to sort GC mess out. At the same time we need serious people ready to volunteer and donate. That is the only way out. We do not need people discussing SRK and Vonage on this site. We might reduce website hits by doing this but at least we will have ust have serious members who actually want to volunteer and work for IV.

Yes, case was originally filed at NSC on July 2nd and on august 24th it got transferred to TSC.
Does the transfer matter here, because dingudi's case is not a transfer case and he's still waiting...
I am in the same boat. 485 filed at NSC on July 12, sent to TSC on September 7th. EAD/AP filed on Aug 9 at NSC and they are still in NSC.
I have AP approved and EAD pending. No FP notice yet either. Its been more than 45 days since opening a SR for that for both me and my wife. System sucks. I have been to the local ASC 3 times with no results.
Again I am not sure if the fact that my 485 is in TX and EAD/AP is in NE is cauing all the problems.

Working on EAD for a short time, even in a different occupation, with 1099 is not an issue. However, this will not satisfy the requirement for 485 approval. You must have a valid fulltime, permanant job offer in the same or related occupation at the time of 485 approval as well as when they issue a RFE regarding your employment.

My husband called USCIS today to check if they have correct address on file and alas they had old address. When we moved after filing for I-485/EAD/AP, we changed the address in Oct and also after we received receipt notices in Jan. We received EAD/AP/Finger printing notices at the present address for all three of us and now they are saying they had old address on my husband's I485 only, great!!!
They were not sure where the card/welcome notice/approval notice were mailed, to my old address or the attorney. Will check with the attorney today, if not what is the procedure as the card will return back. Thanks in advance.

Did you get your EAD/AP approval yet? I filed in 1st week of May, but nothing yet?
I applied for my EAD and AP renewal on the second week of May 2008. Again, I am not sure if EAD or AP renewal triggered the FP notice. Good luck to you.

For your Information India's GDP is 3 trillion USD compare to Mexico 1 trillion USD. Taking into account GDP of EU India ranks 5th in GDP higher than any indivisual European nation where as Mexico ranks 13th. This is as per CIA worldfactbook. So where did you get the number

But since you raised the subject, PPP GDP is adjusted to accomodate for different inflation and consumption rates in different countries. Without the PPT adjustment, India's GDP is equal to Mexico's, even though India has 11 times the population of Mexico. The reason India comes in 4th with the PPP adjustment in the world is because the ruppee is undervalued and Indians have a purchasing power that is 4 times smaller than Mexicans. So, to humor you and use your method of calculation, the Per Capita GDP (PPP) Of India is $3,344 in 2006 and Mexico's is $12,886. "Where are all the Mexican doctores, computer scientists, economists and professors?" you ask. The answer is: They are IN MEXICO making huge salaries, when the Indian ones have to come here because their salaries in India don't give them enough money to eat. Why aren't all the construction workers and lawn workers in the U.S. Indian? Because they cannot affor the airfare. The Mexicans just walk accross the border. Any you know what? All those Indian Professors at Harvard etc are teaching class to all those rich Mexican kids. Get your facts straight before you confront me and make fun of my MBA (which I got in the U.S. incidentally, not Mexico, but if I had wanted I could have gotten a top 20 MBA back home).
